Notes
1.After sterile cotton swabs are used, the outer packaging should be sealed. Once the outer packaging is opened and properly preserved, it can remain aseptic within 24 hours.
2.Disinfection only kills pathogenic microorganisms, while sterilization can kill the seeds of bacteria, namely spores. Cotton swabs carry bacterial spores that are not protected by disinfectants, and disinfectant can become contaminated. At this time not only can not play a disinfection role, but may cause infection, so no longer sterile q-tip should not be used in the wound.
3.Do not place a cotton swab inside the ear canal. Removing earwax with a cotton swab can cause the wax to fall out of place and form a pile that can more easily penetrate into the ear canal and block the ear, causing pain, hearing problems, tinnitus or dizziness, which may require medication if necessary. Another cotton swab could go too deep and cause the eardrum to rupture.
